Elementary Classroom Assistant
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising outdoor play during recess and after-school care.
- This may include taking children on nature hikes and gardening.
- Preparing snacks for the children in after-school care.
- Driving children for local field trips. (Think Food Lion or the Delmarva Discovery Museum.)
- Helping children with classwork.
- Present some short lessons that you have been trained to give.
- Helping to make classroom materials.
Part-time with the potential for full-time work for the 2023-2024 School year.
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to supervise outdoor recess.
On-the-job training will be provided along with professional development, so teaching experience is not necessary.

Ideal candidates:
- Interest in science and history.
- Experience leading elementary-age groups of children (summer camps, after school programs, etc)
- Loves to learn new things.
- Likes to experiment and try new approaches to solve problems.

- A benevolent approach toward parents and children.
- Patient.

Lead Guide – Primary Classroom
Rhyme and Reason Academy is looking to open an all-new primary classroom. Full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year.
Requirements:
- Must have a MACTE accredited Montessori teacher diploma for the 3-6 classroom.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Under the right circumstances, we would be willing to help an individual to get their MACTE accredited Children’s House Teacher Diploma from Prepared Montessorian.
Minimum responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining a Montessori prepared environment that conforms to AMI standards.
- AMI accreditation won’t necessarily be pursued, but this is the standard we aim for.
- Teaching a full class of 3-6 year olds using the Montessori Method.
- Parent-teacher communications for students in your class.
- Writing a quarterly blog post about Montessori education for this blog.
